Nine Months : Special Tests in Pregnancy

Most pregnancies are low-risk and progress through to completion without a visit to a genetic counsellor or to the hospital for special tests to determine if your baby is at risk from structural abnormalities or genetic disorders. These special tests are mostly invasive and carry some risk of miscarriage.

The following tests are classified as special tests and are not present in all hospitals. You may need to discuss this with your midwife.
